KPH has been awarded a new project from the State of Wisconsin to replace the gym floor at UW-Whitewater’s Roseman Hall. The project is set to begin on July 6th to start demolition of the existing floor.

The 4,200 square foot existing poured urethane flooring is to be replaced with a new hardwood athletic floor system. To accommodate the change in height between the old and new floors, KPH will adjust the height of the basketball hoops and install rubber transition reducers at all the gym doors. FRP will be installed along the perimeter walls of the gym.

Roseman Hall on UW-Whitewater’s campus is primarily used by the Wheelchair Athletics Department’s men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams. The men’s team has won 13 National Championships, most recently in 2016, and the women’s team has won 3 National Championships, most recently in 2014.

The school and athletic department decided to replace the poured urethane flooring with a solid, traditional maple athletic floor since the heavy, specific wheelchair use has caused the existing floor to fail and come loose. KPH expects this material to hold up better while providing a traditional basketball court feel. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 17th.
