KPH Breaks Ground for Theresa Terrace Townhomes in Madison

KPH Construction and Madison’s Community Development Authority broke ground in September to celebrate the redevelopment of vacant duplexes at Theresa Terrace. The new townhomes will be 3-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot units designed for families with children—permanently affordable rentals located just a few doors down from the Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center and close to Anana Elementary School. Madison’s Mayor, Satya Rhodes-Conway, was present for the groundbreaking and shared her vision for the project:

“This project showcases how to address the ‘Missing Middle’ in Madison, and I hope it serves as a model for other developments. We need diverse housing options to meet the needs of a growing Madison. The new Theresa Terrace townhomes are just one of the city’s efforts to help us get there.”

Our KPH team is incredibly honored to contribute to making Madison a more affordable and accessible place to live, with support from the city, through the addition of these townhomes. Our President, Keith Harenda, spoke on our longstanding record of providing safe and supportive housing across Wisconsin, saying:

“We’ve turned our passion into expertise across various housing projects, including workforce housing, multi-family developments, student housing, and emergency shelter construction. We are very proud to be delivering these homes in Madison.”

The City’s Affordable Housing Fund supports this project, which is part of the annual Capital Budget. The units will be guaranteed affordable for those making up to 60% of Dane County’s Area Median Income. Demolition of the existing duplexes will begin soon, and construction on the townhomes is expected to be completed in 2025.

We look forward to the steady progress and eventual opening of the Theresa Terrace townhome redevelopment project!
