KPH was invited to a special ceremony celebrating the arrival of the new F-35 jets in Madison earlier this month. This arrival marks the official start of these jets permanently stationed in Madison.
KPH has several major projects underway with the Wisconsin Air National Guard, including the 115th Fighter Wing at Truax Field, where the celebration was held. KPH repaired and renovated a maintenance facility that now services the F-35 Air to Ground Equipment. We are currently working on a new medical readiness facility, a two-story building that will allow for the 115th Medical Group to carry out their mission to provide immediate incident response to natural and man-made disasters from under one roof.
The event was a roaring success, with the KPH team meeting the pilots and seeing the jets up close. Everyone got a little taste of what makes this such exciting news, with a flyover. The Wisconsin State Journal reported, “On a crisp Tuesday afternoon, four of the most advanced fighter jets in the world emerged like speeding, roaring, dark seeds from banks of silvery white clouds above Truax Field on Madison’s North Side.”
Below we have some photos of that exciting day that reminds us why we love our jobs and our work.
