KPH has been awarded a new project at the Traux Field in Madison as part of the MATOC with the Wisconsin Air National Guard. KPH will be working with the 115th Fighter Wing in particular.
The project, titled F-35 AGE Shop Alterations, is needed for the 115th Fighter Wing’s new F-35 fighter jets. AGE stands for Aerospace Ground Equipment, used to support the aircrafts when they are grounded. This includes everything from specialized taxi and towing trucks to bomb lift equipment. Overall, AGE provides critical support to the flightline to ensure that everything is operational and safe.
Set to begin this winter, the project will include a series of renovations throughout the entire 5,000 square foot building. A major piece will be to renovate an existing work bay to create “drive through” access and space for a new equipment lift. This will require major structural demolition and shoring to support the roof while walls are removed and rebuilt. A new driveway access will be installed along with other site utility improvements to support the renovation.
Administrative offices, restrooms and breakroom will be modified and updated throughout the rest of the building. HVAC and Electrical will be upgraded and the existing work bays will have new overhead doors and infrared radiant heat installed.
The entire project is projected to be completed in late spring 2022. KPH is extremely grateful for the MATOC with the Wisconsin Air National Guard that allows for exciting projects like this. We can’t wait to get started!
